Music-driven multicam editing in Premiere Pro

By R Project · Updated October 2, 2026

A live set or event edit needs both musical timing and useful camera angles. R Project Multicam AI analyzes your music and uses that map to plan camera switches in Adobe Premiere Pro.

1. Prepare synchronized footage

Synchronize your camera footage before running the plugin. Prepare your video tracks and the A1 music track, then select the sequence or edit range. Check footage coverage and save your project.

2. Analyze the music

Auto Music Map V14 uses local FFmpeg/DSP analysis to identify beats, BPM, phrases, energy and drop candidates. Multicam editing and Best Music Drops can reuse the map while the sequence and A1 remain unchanged.

3. Choose cameras and pacing

Enable the cameras you want to use and set their roles. Choose 2, 4, 6 or 8 beats per decision, or enable several intervals for music-aware pacing. A validated main drop can interrupt the cadence and restart the beat count.

4. Build camera switches

The V82-FAST engine makes a physical cut when the selected camera changes. Same-camera decisions remain continuous. If an angle has no footage coverage, the director uses another enabled, covered camera; if none is available, the original footage is preserved.

5. Review the edit

Watch the entire result before delivery. Check transitions, camera choices and music timing. Optional random zoom replaces Scale keyframes in the processed range, so review existing motion before using it.

Music-driven editing for weddings, concerts and events

For a wedding highlight, start with slower 6/8-beat camera decisions to give moments room to breathe. Concert edits can start with 2/4 beats; an event recap can use 4/6/8 beats. These presets are starting points, so review camera coverage and the final edit before delivery.

Automatic cuts and missing camera coverage

Automatic multicam editing follows the analyzed music and your enabled camera roles. When the chosen camera has no footage at a decision point, the engine checks another covered camera. This coverage fallback helps avoid empty angles; it does not judge which performance or emotional moment is best. Keep Clips lets you preserve unused pieces for a manual review.

What the plugin requires

Adobe Premiere Pro is required and sold separately. Local music analysis is available; optional online AI review requires your own supported API key and may incur provider charges.
